Your Role:
Teach Visual Arts across Stages 4–6, including elective courses and senior HSC classes.
Teach elective Photographic and Digital Media to Stage 5 and Stage 6 Preliminary Photography, Video and Digital Imaging.
Deliver engaging, rigorous, and creative lessons that foster both technical skill and critical thinking in artmaking, art criticism, and art history.
Support students in developing bodies of work, portfolios, and exhibition practices.
Integrate a variety of media, technologies, and contemporary practices into teaching and learning.
Actively contribute to the creative culture of the school, including exhibitions, performances, and whole-school events.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment, and reporting in line with NESA and school requirements.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan programs, share resources, and contribute to the growth of the Creative and Performing Arts faculty.
Participate in ongoing professional learning and apply current pedagogical practice in the classroom.
Authentically integrate your Christian faith into your teaching practice through pedagogy and your interaction with students.
Engage in pastoral care responsibilities, building strong relationships with students and contributing to the wellbeing culture of the school.
Contribute to co-curricular and enrichment opportunities within the Visual Arts program (e.g., competitions, excursions, workshops).
About you:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate at interview a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship, as well as the following skills and experience:
be a highly committed professional and have a desire to make a difference in the lives of students
be an excellent classroom practitioner, communicator and have solid classroom management skills.
proven successful experience teaching HSC Visual Arts courses;
be committed to academic excellence with high expectations of students
possess strong interpersonal skills, valuing relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
collaborate with colleagues in developing integrated learning experiences, be committed to their own professional learning and growth
be pastorally minded and comfortable with sharing their faith
have an understanding of the wellbeing needs of adolescents
be willing to actively contribute to the extra-curricular life of the College
