POSITION SUMMARY

To be an experienced, creative and organised Mid Weight Graphic Designer for our Retail Division Lombard Party & Events, owned and operated by Lombard The Paper People. To help us translate our vision through creative design for our range of products and in all our communication mediums.

To be responsible for the co-ordination of artwork from Concept to Finished art.

ENVIRONMENT, RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE

The nature of this position is to create, update and maintain all artwork for the organisation. To ensure our branding is used consistently across all Lombard Party & Events Products, Stores & Website, Party Hire & Event Styling Offering and Licensed Event Products, and that this is translated to our Wholesale and Retail channels.

The incumbent will be a member of the Retail Department, to report to the National Retail Manager and work closely with the Retail Marketing Coordinator, Retail Procurement Manager and Retail Web Merchandise.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Be the creative force behind the company

Layout, Design and Photography of Retail and Event Catalogues/Flyers

Concept to finished art for all Retail and Event Products

Concept to finished art for all in store Point of Sale

Concept to finished art for all Print media

Image cropping for use on web, catalogues/flyers, advertisements etc.

Managing the design approval forms and product mock ups for licensees and customers

Use and adhere to external style guides and logo specifications

Product packaging requirements including design layouts and bar codes

Manage workload and utilise internal artwork approval procedure for each department

Maintain software/hardware

Knowledge and experience in graphic design

Minimum 1-2 years graphic design experience required

To keep up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Graphic Design

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Australian work rights are required for this position.

EDUCATION

VCE

Tertiary qualification is required for this role.

Tertiary qualification with marketing or related speciality

MAC - Photoshop

MAC - In Design

MAC - Illustrator

EXPERIENCE

Print

1-2 years of print design experience is required.

Point of Sale

MARKETING SKILLS

The ability to develop creative process to deliver designs meeting all deadlines and creative requirements.

COMMERCIAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and values such as discounts, percentages, gross margin, cost and sell prices and ratios.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to prioritise and apply initiatives to facilitate instructions in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to formulate solutions at an operational level and resolve account management issues.
