- Parramatta Location - 50% office attendance
- Full Time until end of August 2028
- Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129,464 - $142,665 plus superannuation
Your role
Working closely with the Manager, Planning this role supports the growth in State Significant Developments and rezoning of sites and precincts whilst providing planning advice, review the impact of Government planning policies and housing policy initiatives on Homes NSW's property portfolio, manage consultants as required and undertake Homes NSW's planning approvals.
What you'll do
Working closely with the team, the responsibilities of this role include:
- Reviewing planning assessment reports and packages to ensure they comply with planning legislative requirements, planning policies and Homes NSW requirements
- Completing planning and study reviews, providing advice and planning solutions, reviewing third party submissions and project manage consultants, contractors, and providers (as required) in relation to planning activities
- Managing Part 4 and 5 approvals through the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act) to enable the efficient delivery of Homes NSW's strategic objectives and developments
- Providing accurate and timely technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders, providers, contractors, and consultants
- Ensuring business practices, systems and processes are fit for purpose and in line with current legislative, policy and professional standards and those procedures reflect best practice planning for Homes NSW
What we're looking for
Essential Requirements
The essential requirements of this role are:
- Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or related discipline or equivalent planning experience.
- Eligibility for membership of a relevant industry association.
- The role may involve travel both locally and regionally, including overnight travel, as required by the business and/or directed.
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise competing demands
- Experience in State Significant Development Applications and planning and assessment
- High attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation
