About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager Volunteer Sustainability, this role will undertake a broad range of non-operational duties aimed at enhancing brigade viability and capability at brigade, catchment, district, or regional level.
In this key role you will be directed and tasked locally by the Regional Manager Volunteer Sustainability to assist in identifying local issues affecting volunteers and seeking to develop and deliver flexible solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and/or provide tools, knowledge and approaches to support brigade sustainability and the growth of volunteerism.
- Support membership diversity and inclusion at brigade, District or Region level.
- Implement volunteerism programs and events such as volunteer leadership and recognition events.
- Coordinate the implementation of support strategies and initiatives to enhance brigade viability and capability at brigade, Catchment and District level.
Please note some afterhours work and a full driver's licence are required of this role.

To succeed in this key role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a social sciences, humanities, or related discipline; or equivalent experience in the field of volunteerism.
- Strong proven experience and expertise in the field of sustainable volunteerism and an understanding of working with community-based organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse risks and develop relevant mitigation strategies and solutions.
- Excellent team working and collaboration experience, able to develop and maintain relationships and manage expectations across multiple stakeholders, along with customer service, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and deliver successful outcomes in complex environments, working within small groups, provide mentoring and coaching.
