Senior Accountant – Swillhouse Group

Swillhouse is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our small but mighty finance team — the backbone behind some of Sydney’s most iconic venues. From Restaurant Hubert to The Baxter Inn, Alberto’s Lounge, Le Foote, and The Caterpillar Club, our world revolves around devoted hospitality, originality, and good times.

The Role

Reporting to our Financial Controller, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data, leading month-end processes, and providing sharp, timely reporting across all venues. You’ll work closely with operations and leadership, ensuring our financial systems run smoothly and our revenue is accurately captured from every pour, plate, and performance.

You’ll also support strategic decisions by translating financial detail into actionable insights — helping the team make smart, confident calls across the business.

Key Responsibilties

Oversee and reconcile daily sales and revenue across multiple venues.

Manage month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Prepare P&L statements, trend analysis, and performance insights by venue.

Drive accuracy across reconciliations, bank statements, and general ledger.

Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, FBT, and payroll tax returns.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Enhance revenue controls, system processes, and data flow across platforms (Lightspeed, Deputy, SevenRooms, Xero, etc.).

Collaborate with operations to strengthen financial awareness and accountability.

Who You Are

Degree-qualified in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CA completed or in progress.

4–6 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a multi-venue or hospitality environment.

Detail-driven, analytical, and solutions-focused.

Confident working independently but thrive in a collaborative team.

A natural communicator with strong Excel and system skills.

Someone who takes pride in doing things properly, but knows how to have a laugh along the way.
