The Competitions Assistant supports the Competitions Manager in the successful administration and delivery of all Baseball SA competitions. This role provides essential operational and administrative support, focusing on data entry, system maintenance, and communication with clubs and members. The Competitions Assistant will be a key point of contact for day-to-day competition inquiries, ensuring the smooth flow of information and the accurate upkeep of competition data.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

Assist with the setup and maintenance of all competitions within the sports management platform.

Process player registrations, transfers, and permits under the guidance of the Competitions Manager.

Enter and verify game results, update competition ladders, and maintain player statistics.

Respond to general competition-related inquiries from club administrators and members via phone and email.

Assist in the preparation and distribution of competition fixtures, memos, and updates.

Operational Support:

Assist with the logistical arrangements for finals, tournaments, and other competition events.

Help maintain records for tribunal hearings, player eligibility, and MVP awards.

Provide administrative support for Competition Manager meetings, including minute-taking and agenda distribution.

Support the Competitions Manager in providing training and assistance to clubs on the use of the sports management platform.

General Duties:

Perform data entry and maintain accurate records across all competition-related

databases.

Collaborate with other Baseball SA staff to ensure integrated service delivery.

Other duties as reasonably directed by the Competitions Manager.

Selection

Key Selection Criteria

Experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within the sport or recreation industry.

High level of proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office suite. Experience with sports management platforms is highly desirable.

Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Good written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.

A passion for sport and an understanding of volunteer-led organizations.

License Registrations and Qualifications

A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
