About the Commercial Solicitor Role
This Commercial Solicitor position is ideal for a qualified solicitor with at least 1.5 years PQE who is looking to expand beyond narrow big-firm work and gain meaningful exposure across both transactional and dispute resolution areas. You’ll be supported by a Principal Solicitor with Supreme Court experience, handling a variety of matters that will strengthen your drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. This role provides the perfect bridge between junior and mid-level solicitor capability, with the guidance and autonomy to grow confidently.
Key Responsibilities
In this Commercial Solicitor position, you will:

• Draft and review commercial legal documents including shareholders agreements, settlement deeds, deeds of loan, and trust deeds.
• Prepare affidavits and legal correspondence for Supreme, District, and Local Court matters.
• Manage litigation files from briefing counsel through to settlement and enforcement.
• Handle transactional work such as commercial contracts and company acquisitions valued up to $11 million.
• Provide client consultations, legal advice, and case updates under the supervision of the Principal Solicitor.
• Maintain accurate file records, research case law, and contribute to legal strategies and submissions.

What We’re Looking For
To succeed as a Commercial Solicitor / Litigation Solicitor, you’ll need:

• Admission as a solicitor in Australia with current practising certificate.
• Strong drafting and legal research skills, with excellent written communication.
• Practical experience in commercial contracts, litigation, and company transactions.
• Ability to manage client relationships and deliver pragmatic legal solutions.
• Permanent Resident visa or unrestricted Australian work rights.

Salary and Location
This Commercial Solicitor / Litigation Solicitor role is based in the western suburbs of Sydney
Salary guide: $90,000 – $120,000 per annum (commensurate with experience).
