About the role
Challenge Southern Highlands is seeking an experienced Supported Independent Living Manager to join our team in Mittagong, NSW. This full-time role will be responsible for effective leadership, operational management, and financial sustainability of Challenge House. This includes oversight of budgets, expense recovery, NDIS and private rental funding alongside ensuring high-quality, person-centered support.
What you'll be doing
Lead, supervise and mentor a team of support workers and coordinate the delivery of personalised support services to clients living independently
Develop and implement house guidelines, schedules, and programs that promote residents’ independence
Ensure all services meet or exceed NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and relevant legislation.
Build collaborative relationships with residents’ families, guardians, and professional networks.
Assist in the preparation and management of rosters to ensure safe and appropriate 24/7 staffing coverage.
Monitor expenditure and prepare financial reports as required.
Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Supported Independent Living program
What we're looking for as Essential Criteria
Demonstrated experience in mental health, psychosocial disability, or supported accommodation services.
Minimum 1 year experience managing a residential setting with a variety of NDIS and other funding streams and with residents with complex needs.
Strong knowledge of the NDIS framework, NDIS Code of Conduct, National Standards for Disability Services, and quality standards.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and maintaining documentation related to NDIS supports and the claiming of those supports.
Financial management skills, including budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
Proven leadership and staff management experience in residential settings. experience in property, fleet, asset, and resource management.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Analytical thinker with strong skills for evaluating risk, identifying gaps, and diagnosing problems.
Participation in an on-call rotating roster, providing after-hours support and decision-making.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Disability Services, Community Services, or a related field.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
Australian work rights.
Fully vaccinated in line with organisational health and safety policies.

Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (plus an additional $2,650 for Entertainment expenses) on top of a competitive salary
