About the role

This position provides high-level administrative and executive support on the Legislative Program, drafting teams, and the First Parliamentary Counsel (FPC)

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing executive support to the First Parliamentary Counsel (FPC), Second Parliamentary Counsels (2PCs), and the Drafting cohort.
  2. Performing day-to-day tasks, including meeting room set up, greeting visitors, inbox and diary management, answering phone calls, data entry and tracking, and records management.
  3. Supporting the coordination of events, including conferences, forums and professional development programs.
  4. Financial reconciliation of credit cards, invoice acquittals and support procurement activities.
  5. Organising and overseeing travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation, while managing travel-related expenses in accordance with whole of government standards.
  6. Preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence, ensuring all materials are accurate and professionally formatted.
  7. Supporting coordination of the Cabinet process, including the distribution of Cabinet materials and minutes, and the preparation of briefing packs.
  8. Providing ad hoc administrative support to the broader office as required.
  9. Providing secretariat support to meetings, committees and working groups, as required.

  • Shows enthusiasm for supporting and driving change, contributing meaningfully to operational improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for these roles, you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen;
  • be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance to Baseline status.
