About Us

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs).

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools, ELCs and the CEO through seven Service Areas. These Service Areas include: Education and Performance Improvement; Catholic Identity; School and Family Services; Strategy and Special Projects; Finance and Infrastructure; Information and Communication Technology; and People and Culture.

About the Team

The Public Relations and Marketing Officer position in the Marketing and Communications works with team members to support a variety of schools and office in all their marketing needs from event management to website updates to content creation.

About the Role

The Public Relations and Marketing Officer is a key member of the Public Relations, Communications and Marketing Team. The Public Relations and Marketing Officer develops public relations campaigns and support marketing strategies and campaigns to communicate the hope, joy and wonder of a Catholic education to stakeholders, working with the CECG leadership team, service areas in the Catholic Education Office and school principals to promote the schools. This role is important in promoting CECG as a leading choice for education in the ACT and NSW Schools.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement public relations campaigns, media engagement plans, and communication strategies.

Implement engagement plans for funding stakeholders, donors, and other VIPs to develop a greater understanding of the CECG mission, purpose, and values.

Support the Senior Manager with events for the Director such as CECG staff awards and recognition, celebration events, and exhibitions.

Manage social media, content creation, and community engagement with users on CECG social media sites such as X and Instagram.

Write the Director's promotional material, web content, speeches, talking points, and scripts for videos and publications including the CECG annual report.

Travel to ACT and regional NSW schools for events and media opportunities.

Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, social science, business or a related field.

Skills in SharePoint, photography, videography and graphic design would be viewed favourably but are not essential.

Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.

Driver’s licence.
