Due to organic growth of our client list, we are seeking a Senior Accountant who can really hit the ground running. You will provide services to a wide range of clients, including farming, manufacturing, wholesale, retail and professional services. Having been in the business for over 50 years, we are well established and have a loyal client base and low staff turnover.

About you

Our ideal candidate is an energetic accountant with 5+ years’ experience in Public Practice. You will have or are working toward your CA/CPA with a good academic record. We value integrity, honesty and accountability. You will have strong communication skills and experience in dealing directly with clients and mentoring junior staff. You will be experienced in using Xero Tax.

About the role

As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with our Directors and Associate Directors and will be key in delivering high quality services to our clients. Your duties will include:

· Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for a wide and diverse range of clients and entity types.

· Assist with tax planning and advisory projects for clients.

· Preparing accurate and high-quality communication to clients.

· Provide advice in relation to various tax matters including GST, capital gains tax and fringe benefits tax.

· Prepare and review quarterly and/or monthly activity statements.

· Prepare other statutory returns including Fringe Benefits Tax Payroll Tax and Single Touch Payroll.

· Identify and research various tax and accounting issues.

· Mentor junior staff and support colleagues to share information and knowledge.

· Communicate effectively with clients and liaise with ATO and other government bodies.
