We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Administrative Officer to join our team at Events ACT. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work and is confident juggling multiple responsibilities across a variety of areas such as finance, procurement, Human Resource (HR), and general administration. This position provides critical administrative support to Events ACT, the team responsible for delivering some of Canberra’s most iconic public events. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of internal processes that support event planning and delivery.
In this role, your tasks could include:
- Support finance operations including invoice coding, purchase orders, and reconciliations.
- Assist with procurement and contract administration, including drafting simple agreements and maintaining records.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and summaries to support business operations.
- Maintain accurate records using platforms such as SharePoint, TRIM, and other EDRMS tools.
- Provide administrative support for recruitment and onboarding/offboarding activities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth business unit operations.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems (e.g., SharePoint, TRIM).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and a positive attitude toward change.
- Initiative, accountability, and the ability to work independently.
- Integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
