About the Business Unit:

The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility with a focus on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society. It offers various working industries with the men given the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will effectively link them to employment on release. When not engaged in work, the men attend rehabilitative programs to address their offending behaviour, engage in education and visits whilst many also engage in recreation and community assistance programs.

About the Role:

The Program Facilitator co-ordinates and delivers a range of programs that address the rehabilitation needs of remand and sentenced cohorts.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Contributing to the development, co-ordination and delivery of a range of offence-related programs
  • Assessing suitability and eligibility for program participation and align program activity to individual case plan goals
  • Providing appropriate support, guidance and motivation to people in care; encourage program participation, engagement with program content and the development of life skills.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the rehabilitation needs and issues experienced by people in custody
  • Experience in co-ordinating and facilitating programs, preferably within a rehabilitation or social services field
  • Demonstrated capability to work with people who are difficult to engage individually, and in group settings
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse cohorts, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Qualifications/Requirements:

· Relevanttraining,certificationand/orqualificationisdesirable.
