MiningCommSteel are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer to work in the Perth Metro area and with occasional visits to our China office and facilities.

The ability to speak Mandarin would be an advantage.

The successful applicant must have a minimum of 1 - 2 years experience in structural steel fabrication for both Mining projects & commercial buildings.

This position will suit an applicant who has high standards and an eye for detail who is looking for a long term future with a young and growing company.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

Ability to manage the sub-contract shop drawing process.

Experience in estimating doing material take offs

Ability to plan and schedule activities

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Good computer skills ( proficient in MS word, MS Projects,Excel, Outlook)

Be willing to be part of a collaborative, high performing team culture.

Responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Project Engineers the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Customer Liaison and communication for all drawing modification requests as well as drawing related queries

Communicating with clients in a effective and respectful manner

Ensure that all sub - contractors understand the scope of work and assist them to develop a cost effective schedule

Engaging, motivating and supporting crews / sub-contractors

Procurement of materials and services
