Diploma Qualified Child Care Worker Position

Galloping Gumnut Mobile Children’s Service is seeking a qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Child Care Worker as a full-time employee.

The successful applicant will ensure they have respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Essential Criteria:

· A current Working with Children Check clearance

· Must have a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Applicants with CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will be preferred.

· A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Child Care worker

· A current First Aid Certificate in Education and Care

· A sound understanding of the Education and Care National Regulations and the National Quality Framework

· Experience with program, planning and implementing the principles and practices outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework

· Ability to work as an effective team member

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

Duties:

-Adhere to the Service’s Philosophy, Policies and Procedures

-Comply with the requirements of the National Quality Framework (NQF)

-Ensure compliance with the National Regulations and comply with other relevant legislation, for example: Child Protection and Work, Health and Safety

-Uphold the objectives outlined in the ECA Code of Ethics and the United Nations Rights of the Child

-Fulfill the duties associated with Mandatory reporting guidelines in the line with the Child Protection legislation and the Service’s Policies and Procedures

-Supporting the setup of resources, materials, and equipment for children’s learning and play activities

-Assist with programming, planning and implementing a holistic curriculum for children aged 0-5

-Managing children's behaviour and guiding children's social and emotional development

-Engaging children through storytelling, interactive games, and play-based learning

-Supervising children's daily routines

-Modelling and supervising the hygiene of children

-Supervising children during recreational activities

-Build trusting relationships with families

-Be respectful of differing views, beliefs, cultural values and practices and make every effort to accommodate the requests of families, bearing in mind the Service Philosophy, Policies and Procedures

-Develop professional relationships that are inclusive of respect, tolerance, support team collaboration and cooperation and “recognise each other’s strengths and skills”

-At all times ensure strict confidentiality
