In this role you will be developing the software and FPGA architecture for H Nu’s revolutionary all-optical electrical current and voltage measuring systems for high voltage transmission networks. You will be deeply involved in software verification and test. You will also be working closely with our junior software engineer and the electronics, mechanical and optical teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop embedded software architecture and code for the H Nu current and voltage measurement systems

Develop FPGA architecture and code

Developing software verification tools for automated testing and performance testing including software regression testing.

Work with the electronics team to verify overall performance of the system.

Work with AEMO and similar organisations to work towards metering certification.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed.

Nature of Position:

The position is full-time with the expectation that the employee will generally work 5 days/week during normal business hours. The vast majority of the work will be on-site since you will be working closely with our electronics, mechanical and optics engineers.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

· Extensive experience (2 years +) in embedded C and VHDL

· Extensive experience in software test

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

· A careful, patience systematic approach

Any of the following would be an advantage

· Experience in power systems or optics

· Experience in working with customers and engineering teams

· Experience guiding other software engineers

· Other European languages

· Experience with AEMO.
