A rare opportunity has arisen for a Construction Law Partner to take over leadership of a well-established Strata and Community Title practice in Sydney. This is a high-profile role within one of Australia’s largest and most respected construction law firms, specialising in complex disputes and advisory work for large-scale building projects.

This role offers the chance to lead and expand a sophisticated practice, taking ownership of a strong client base, including lot owners, schemes, developers, and major players in the construction industry such as Lend Lease. You will work across both front-end construction contract matters and back-end litigation and dispute resolution, including high court work, land and environment court matters, insolvency, equity issues, and tribunal proceedings.

Salary and Features of the Position:

• $250,000 - $300,000 Salary Range
• Established $2–2.5M practice with a self-sufficient team
• Opportunity to lead and grow the practice further
• Office located in Sydney with strong client exposure and market presence
• Ability to take ownership of both advisory and complex litigation matters
• Preference for candidates able to bring $200K–$250K in client work, enhancing practice growth potential (Not essential)

About the Role:
You will be responsible for:

• Advising on and managing complex Strata and Community Title disputes involving defects, remedial works, and contract issues
• Acting against developers, builders, contractors, and other parties under building contracts
• Advising on airspace rights and related strategic matters
• Managing multi-jurisdictional litigation and tribunal proceedings, including the Land and Environment Court
• Overseeing the resolution of significant technical disputes involving hydraulics, fire services, structural, external cladding, and waterproofing
• Leading client presentations and strategic advice to lot owners and schemes
• Growing the practice by expanding the client base and service offerings
• Mentoring and leading a specialist team to maintain technical excellence and client satisfaction

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven expertise in construction law, strata/community title disputes, and building defect matters
• Strong technical knowledge with capability across both advisory and litigious work
• Minimum 8–10 years’ post-admission experience, with leadership capability
• Ability to run a practice autonomously and grow it over the long term
• High energy, commercial acumen, and credibility in the construction law sector
• Strong track record of managing complex matters from start to finish
• Ideally, capacity to bring $200K–$250K worth of clients to the practice
