Maintenance Fitter / Turner – State-of-the-Art Laundry Facility (Rockhampton)

Our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Rockhampton represents the next step in industrial laundry technology — and we’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter / Turner to help keep it running at its best.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a hands-on maintenance team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our high-capacity automated laundry equipment. This role suits a mechanically minded tradesperson with experience as a fitter and turner, who takes pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and preventative maintenance.

Every day will be different — from diagnosing breakdowns and fabricating parts, to supporting installations and fine-tuning new systems in one of the most advanced laundry plants in the state.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and plant equipment

Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime

Carry out precision machining, turning, and fabrication work as required

Support external contractors during major repairs, upgrades, or installations

Maintain workshop tools, records, and spare parts inventory

Uphold safety standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

About You

Trade qualified Fitter and Turner (or similar mechanical trade)

Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or production environments

Strong fault-finding skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset

Ability to work independently and as part of a small, reliable team

Welding and fabrication experience (advantageous)

Willingness to participate in a rotating roster and occasional callouts

Commitment to safe work practices and proactive maintenance culture
