About the Role

As Retail Shift Assistant, you'll be responsible for overseeing store operations during your shifts, guiding and supporting team members, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and merchandising is on point, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support junior team members during shifts

Open and close the store as required

Ensure shelves are stocked and merchandised to standard

Serve customers and handle transactions

Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards

Balance tills and complete end-of-day tasks

Communicate with management about stock, staff, or operational issues

What You Bring

Minimum 2 years of retail experience (Supervisory experience a bonus)

Willingness to commit to the role for at least 12 months and grow with the team

Experience with stock control and placing orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce waste

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends

Availability to work both day and evening shifts

A calm, solution-focused approach under pressure

A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of shift outcomes

The ability to foster a positive, inclusive team culture built on respect and shared goals

Confidence in delegating tasks while upholding high operational standards

Initiative to identify and resolve issues and continuously improve store operations

Permanent right to work in Australia

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15kg
