National Transport Company requires a Workshop Foreman for their Burton Workshop, the state-of-the-art facility was completed in 2021, with above award conditions and a safe, clean and healthy work environment.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the afternoon shift foreman will help ensure the fleet is maintained to a high standard. Assisting the Workshop Manager scheduling work, completing work orders, ordering parts and following processes to ensure quality control.

The team of diesel mechanics are responsible for the professional maintenance and repairs of trucks, trailers and equipment in the general freight, container and tanker fleet.

The primary duties of the role will include:

Supervising the repair, replace, maintain and testing of a high volume of company vehicles and related mechanical and electrical components.

Ensuring all the staff members in the workshop are completing work in a safe and efficient manner in line with company standards.

Supervise servicing of vehicles in line with company servicing schedule

Accurate completion of all paperwork and systems associated with fleet maintenance and repair

Supervise all staff on the floor with 80% floor based work and 20% office work

Support breakdown phone calls

The candidate we are looking for will have:

Trade qualified for minimum 5 years.

Experience in transport.

Experience with Kenworth, Cummins & trailers

Proven competence as a Workshop Supervisor

Sound computer skills

Lead, demonstrate and educate employees to embrace a safe & productive work environment.

Good problem solving and planning skills
