Your New Role
As a Policy Officer, you will contribute to high-impact initiatives that influence national security outcomes. You will work within a collaborative team environment to deliver timely, evidence-based policy advice and support strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting persuasive policy advice and briefing materials for senior executives and Ministers
  • Coordinating inter-agency meetings and preparing high-level documentation
  • Engaging with stakeholders across Whole of Government and external partners
  • Supporting program delivery and contributing to strategic planning
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform policy development
  • Managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

What You'll Need to Succeed
To thrive in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and sound judgment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-agency collaboration
  • Understanding of government processes and policy frameworks

Applicants must be Australian citizens and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Federal Government Security Clearance (NV1, NV2, or TSPV).
