About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join Colab Lighting' as a Trainee and complete a Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application. You will gain hands-on experience in the painting and decorating industry, working alongside experienced tradespeople to develop your skills and knowledge.

What you'll be doing

Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating by cleaning, sanding, and repairing them

Apply a variety of coating materials such as paints, stains, and varnishes to different surfaces

Use a range of tools and equipment, including spray guns, rollers, and brushes

Measure and mix paint and other coating materials to achieve the desired colour and consistency

Ensure work areas are clean, tidy, and safe at all times

Participate in on-the-job training and attend off-site courses to complete the Certificate III qualification

A keen interest in the painting and decorating trade

Good manual dexterity and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Good time management and organisational skills

Commitment to completing the Certificate III qualification
