A bit about the role

As a Health and Social Policy Officer at the City of Casey, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping community wellbeing through evidence-based policies, programs, and advocacy.

This dynamic role involves cross-organisational collaboration to embed public health principles, build stakeholder relationships, and drive continuous improvement across health and social policy areas. With a strong focus on innovation, community engagement, and equity, you will help influence systemic change to improve outcomes for Casey’s diverse and growing community.

What you’ll deliver

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based health and social policies, programs, and advocacy initiatives to meet community needs.
  • Lead implementation and enhancement of planning and reporting frameworks to improve project outcomes and align with organisational goals.
  • Provide strategic advice to inform inclusive policy development, using data and insights to address health inequities.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to drive positive health outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate projects to demonstrate social impact and support continuous improvement across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in public health, health promotion, policy or a related discipline, with relevant experience in policy or project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of the social determinants of health and the policy levers that support equitable health outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead or contribute to strategic projects, from planning through to evaluation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify risks, trends, and opportunities in complex policy environments.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
