About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Building & Pest Inspector to work independently and contribute to a variety of inspections. You’ll be responsible for conducting Pre-Purchase, Pre-Sale, Construction Stage, and Special Purpose Defects Inspections.

The role focuses on providing comprehensive reports that detail building defects and timber pest activity, ensuring clients receive expert advice and guidance.

Candidates with previous building or pest inspection experience will be viewed favourably.

You’ll be using advanced reporting software to deliver thorough and accurate reports, and ongoing communication with clients is essential to ensure satisfaction and clarity throughout the process.

The role involves full-time with inspections from Monday to Friday; however, part-time arrangements may be considered. For the right candidate, this is a role with potential to evolve into a full-time emploment with benefits such as a company vehicle and insurance coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Building & Timber Pest Inspections for pre-purchase, pre-sale, and construction stages.

Inspect roofs, sub-floors, and building structures for defects and timber pest activity.

Provide detailed reports on major and minor defects, as well as pest activity (current and past).

Maintain direct communication with clients and ensure all questions and concerns are addressed.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Must be a registered building practitioner. Current VBA registration (licensed builder) with at least 10 years’ experience in the Building & Construction industry.

Sound knowledge of Building Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards, and NCC.

Pest Control License, Certificate (Units 8 & 10) required for inspecting and reporting on timber pests.

Extensive knowledge of timber pests is a must

Current Driving License, Police Check, and Working with Children Check.

Physically fit for roof and sub-floor inspections.

Ability to work independently, with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

High level of PL and PI insurance.
