The Role
The Senior Group Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of organisation’s consolidated accounts and the financial reporting requirements and management reporting where required. The Senior Group Financial Reporting Accountant also provides support and guidance to the finance teams within each of the countries focusing on group reporting, process improvement and efficiencies. The Group Reporting team advises and supports the wider business and subsidiaries on implementation of new accounting standards, significant business transactions, due diligence projects and M&A transactions. The duties of your role will include, but not be limited to the following.
- Assist with the preparation of Investor Presentations and Group Financial Statements
- Assist with the preparation of Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee papers
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting standards, ASX Listing Rules and the Corporations Act
- Prepare technical accounting papers, particularly in relation to share-based payments and key management personnel
- Review existing reporting processes and controls to streamline reporting and improve efficiency
- Assist with audit requirements and coordination
- Support the reporting and preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Coordinate the remuneration report process
- Ensure accounting policies are in accordance with US GAAP
- Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley controls for US reporting requirements are operating effectively and consistently met
- Assist with strategic projects, divestments, and M&A activities, applying financial acumen and technical expertise to achieve the best outcomes for the Group
- Demonstrate strong project management skills to ensure monthly reporting requirements (both internal and external) are well planned and executed
- Adopt a whole-of-business perspective when addressing issues and developing solutions
- Promote collaboration and teamwork across stakeholder groups
- Work collaboratively within the finance team to share and develop knowledge
- Ensure team members comply with company policies and procedures
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a CA or CPA qualified accounting professional with over five years of experience and strong technical accounting expertise. They will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced analytical and numeracy capabilities, and a high level of accountability. Experience with SOX compliance and US GAAP is desirable, along with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Exposure to systems such as NetSuite, Blackline, and Adaptive is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will show strong initiative, a willingness to take ownership, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
