Kick-start your career in the local government industry in a dynamic team environment where you will gain experience with a 12-month traineeship in aquatics (Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation).

The opportunity

As an Aquatics Trainee you will have the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification while developing skills in lifeguarding, pool maintenance, emergency responses and instructing clients on water safety.

Desired skills and attributes:

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Be a team player and have a positive attitude to learning new skills and knowledge
  • Reasonable level of fitness
  • Competent and strong swimmer with the ability to pass at a Bronze Medallion level
  • Confident and professional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent time management skills, organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Basic computer and typing skills, including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Packages
