About the role
NQ CIVIL & HAULAGE PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Fitter to join our team in Charters Towers, Queensland. This full-time role will involve the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy vehicles and machinery, playing a crucial part in ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

What you'll be doing

Diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of earthmoving equipment, Prime movers and trailers and quarry machines.

Perform routine servicing and scheduled maintenance on a variety of machinery and vehicles

Conduct inspections and identify potential issues

Use diagnostic equipment and tools to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems

Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, meeting safety and quality standards

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed

Assist with the training and mentoring of junior technicians as required

What we're looking for

Trade qualification - Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, preferably in the civil construction or transport industry

Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with the wider team

Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and the ability to work safely at all times
