We’re seeking experienced and motivated Leading Hands to join a major tunnelling construction project based onsite in Adelaide. This is a fixed-term role suited to trade-qualified Boilermakers / 1st Class Welders who thrive in fast-paced site environments and have a proven ability to supervise teams on rotating rosters while delivering high-quality outcomes, safely and efficiently.

🔨 About the Role:

This hands-on leadership role will see you working closely with site supervisors and project management to coordinate daily operations, ensure crew productivity, and uphold the highest safety standards. You’ll lead by example while working alongside the team on steel fabrication, welding, and installation activities.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support a team of Boilermakers/Welders onsite

Ensure compliance with the Standards and Welding Traceability

Ensure all works are completed in line with technical drawings and specifications

Monitor site safety and promote a safety-first culture

Liaise with client supervision and engineers regarding progress and issues

🧰 What We’re Looking For:

Trade-qualified Boilermaker or First Class Welder

Proven experience in a Leading Hand or similar supervisory role

Ability to pass FCAW / MMAW welder qualifications – all positions

Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills

Experience in structural steel fabrication and construction environments

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Strong understanding of WHS legislation and practices

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test

White Card (mandatory)

WAH / HRWL / EWP (advantageous)

📆 Contract Details:

Start Date: November 2025

Location: Clovelly Park, 5042.

Contract Type: Fixed-term – project-specific (8-9 months approx.)

Roster: 7/3 – 7/4

Shift Pattern *subject to confirmation

Works will be carried out 24/7 on a 7/3 - 7/4 Roster
How it works:
1) Night shift starts Tuesday night at 18.00hrs and will run through till Monday morning of the next week finishing at 06.00hrs.

2) That crew will then be off for the rest of the week (3 days off), until Friday morning which is when they start their day shift run.

3) Day shift start Friday morning 06.00hrs and will continue until Thursday of the following week finishing at 18.00hr on Thursday.

4) These workers will then be off until Tuesday of the following week (5 days off), which is when they will start night shift again and cycle repeats itself.

💰 What’s On Offer:

Competitive hourly rate – $51.00 per hour + overtime

12 Hours Shifts

Start and finish on site

Daily Site Travel Allowance: $TBA per day/night worked

Fuel allowance: $TBA per day (per vehicle)

Paid Meal Breaks (12 hours Shifts)

Daily Meal Allowance: $18.38
