About the role

Multiple Support Worker roles at YUMBA-META LTD, a leading provider of community services and development in Townsville, Queensland. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct support and assistance to young people and families in the local community.

What you'll be doing

Offering support to young people and families to help them overcome challenges and reach their goals

Facilitating programs and activities to promote personal growth and wellbeing

Maintaining detailed case notes and records to monitor client progress

Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to deliver holistic support services

Advocating for clients and connecting them with relevant community resources and services

Ensure that safe practices are in place for clients in the workplace

Ensure administrative and cleaning tasks are completed

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a similar support worker or youth/community services role

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people and families from First Nations, Torres Strait Islander and other vulnerable groups

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a compassionate and person-centred approach

Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures in the community services sector

Qualifications in youth work, social work, psychology or a related field are highly regarded
