About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently seeking experienced Anaesthetics Registered & Enrolled Nurses to join our Perioperative Services team. We welcome expressions of interest from nurses considering relocation and offer flexible employment options to suit your lifestyle — including Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time. Shifts are available between 07:00 AM and 09:00 PM, based at our Pimlico campus, where you’ll be part of a collaborative and innovative healthcare environment.
The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.

- Relocation reimbursements of up to $2,000 for individuals or $3,500 for couples/families for approved travel-related expenses

Salary range: $41.73 - $53.53 per hour (Registered Nurse Level 1) plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing
Our Perioperative Registered Nurses use extensive experience to provide essential support to our patients and Clinical Nurses in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
- Provide effective management of post anaesthesia and postoperative complications
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic area.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered/Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
- Experience working as an anaesthetics nurse
- ALS Certification desirable
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
