About the Role
The Reconciliation Lead will play a pivotal role in advancing reconciliation both within the City and throughout our sphere of influence. This position is responsible for strengthening relationships with First Nations peoples, leading the delivery of the City’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and ensuring that cultural learning and awareness are embedded across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development, implementation, and reporting of the City’s RAP.
  • Embedding RAP accountability across all business units, including through the RAP Steering Group and ELT.
  • Building strong partnerships with Reconciliation WA, Reconciliation Australia, and First Nations community stakeholders.
  • Consulting and collaborating with the City’s First Nations staff to ensure authentic engagement and feedback.
  • Working with Communications to promote awareness and understanding of reconciliation through internal and external channels.
  • Supporting Learning and Development to deliver high-quality cultural competency initiatives.

About you
We are seeking someone who can bring vision, leadership, and cultural insight to this important role. You will have demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and stakeholders, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to influence and inspire others in advancing reconciliation.

  • Success in this role will be measured by:
  • Delivery and reporting of RAP outcomes and actions.
  • Leadership and coordination of the RAP Steering Group.
  • Increased cultural competency across the organisation.
  • Strong and respectful relationships with First Nations peoples and partners.

Salary: $93,945.24 (Level 5.1) per annum pro-rata 0.4 FTE depending on qualifications and experience.
