The Opportunity

Treeview Estates is the premier Retirement Village in the Blue Mountains and Central West. Located in South Bowenfels, close to Lithgow and 2 hours from Sydney, Treeview has over 200 residents living in 145 villas set in landscaped gardens. We offer flexible work arrangements and a positive and dynamic work environment. We are seeking an experienced hands on Grounds Person who is comfortable maintaining our established lawns, common area gardens, landscaping and irrigation systems.

The Role

Reporting to the Grounds Team Leader and part of a small team, the Grounds Person is responsible for the gardening and grounds functions of the village ensuring that the gardens and grounds are maintained to a high standard. This includes both preventative and remedial maintenance of Treeview lawns, common area gardens, landscaping, and irrigation elements.

The key responsibilities include:

Mowing, edging and, vacuum/blowing of villa and common area lawns according to mowing schedule

Gardening, weeding, fertilising, and watering plants and gardens

Trimming of hedges in common areas and resident gardens and pruning common area shrubs and trees

Assist the Maintenance team with routine inspection and maintenance on sewer and stormwater infrastructure

Ensure all maintenance forms are filled in with relevant information, signed by residents and returned to the village office

Ensure completion of all machinery servicing, gardening and Operational Environmental Management Plan (OEMP) checklists and schedules are completed

Maintain records of all preventative & remedial maintenance/repair work and daily checks and read water, electricity and gas meters as required

Assist Maintenance team when required by team leaders or Operations Manager

Individual resident gardening services as directed by the Operations Manager

Provide other services at the discretion of the Operations Manager or Managing Director

The following experience will be well regarded:

Reasonable experience in a gardening, horticulture, trade or maintenance role

Less than one year of gardening or horticulture experience is acceptable for this position

Relevant trade certificate or TAFE qualification in construction, maintenance, gardening, horticulture, landscaping or similar occupation.

Reasonable level of computer literacy including email

Current First Aid certification

You will also need:

A current Australian drover's licence

A full car licence is required

Current National Police Record clearance

Full training will be provided for irrigation system maintenance and operation.
