Project Engineer – Civil & Marine Infrastructure (South East Queensland)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our growing civil and marine construction team, delivering projects across South East Queensland and regional QLD. You’ll support Project Managers and Supervisors in the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects ranging from $1m to $20m.
With a strong pipeline of work spanning civil subdivisions, TMR road projects, drainage, and marine/coastal infrastructure, this role offers excellent exposure and a clear pathway toward senior project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, budgets, and cost control.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including ITPs, QA records, and reporting.
- Provide technical and engineering support to Supervisors and site crews.
- Liaise with multiple subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Contribute to methodologies, temporary works, and constructability reviews.
- Support safety, quality, and environmental management on site.
- Regularly attend site (including coastal/remote locations) to monitor progress and resolve technical challenges.
Typical Project Scope
- Civil Works – bulk earthworks, TMR road construction & upgrades, drainage, structural concrete, utilities
- Subdivisions – residential & industrial land developments including roads, services, and infrastructure
- Marine Infrastructure – boat ramps, jetties, piling, breakwaters, floating platforms
- Coastal & Foreshore Works – erosion control, seawalls, revetments, stabilisation, beach nourishment
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- 2–5 years’ experience in civil and/or marine construction (contractor-side preferred).
- Exposure to earthworks, subdivisions, TMR, or marine/coastal projects highly regarded.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to delivery.
- Competence with project software, scheduling, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple subcontractors.
- Comfortable working across both office and site environments, including coastal projects.
