The Role:
Workshop Mechanic – Oil & Gas Services
Perth-based | Travel required- Ad hoc basis- Nationally | Permanent role
We are seeking a trade-qualified mechanic / mechanical fitter to join our operations team in Perth. This is a hands-on role that combines workshop maintenance with national field support. You will play a key part in keeping our specialist fleet safe, reliable, and ready to mobilise at short notice.
Rosters: Monday-Friday (when workshop based)
Expected split of time will be 60% workshop, 30% site, 10% RnR.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair a wide range of oil & gas service equipment, including:
Nitrogen pumping units and booster compressors
Hydraulic power packs, diesel engines, and generators
Pressure testing rigs, pipework, and associated tooling
Minor repairs to vehicles and assessments
Support mobilisation readiness by inspecting, certifying, and preparing equipment for site.
Provide reactive support for urgent repairs both in workshop and on-site.
Work closely with supervisors and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and keep projects moving.
Carry out inspections, fault-finding, and commissioning on high-spec equipment
Uphold WSG’s strong safety and compliance culture — ensuring all work is carried out to client and industry standards.
Ensure gear is safe, compliant, and mobilised to site-ready standard.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent experience.
Previous oil & gas or industrial services experience highly regarded (nitrogen services a strong advantage).
Ability to travel and work reactively when projects demand.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safe, efficient solutions.
Perth-based (workshop is your home base).
