The Organisation

Since 1988, Easy Care Gardening (ECG) has supported older people across Sydney’s lower and upper north shore. We are a for-purpose, not-for-profit organisation delivering services under the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). ECG promotes physical activity, client choice, and shared learning while making gardens safer and more enjoyable. We help clients build social connections, a sense of purpose, and belonging, supporting them to feel more in control of their lives. We uphold clients’ dignity and independence, working collaboratively so older people can take part in services, share their skills, and learn new ones. With Australia’s aging and increasingly isolated population, maintaining gardens can improve physical and mental wellbeing, enhance community connections, and support independence, reducing the need for earlier transitions to residential aged care and improving quality of life for clients, their families, and the broader community.

The Opportunity

As Australia’s aged care sector evolves, ECG is adapting to meet these reforms. We are seeking a proactive and community-minded Coordinator to help shape how we deliver meaningful services while building a strong and motivated volunteer workforce. Leading a service area and teams, this role balances client engagement, service delivery, and volunteer leadership.
