About Us
Minded Psychology is a unique private practice by the beach in Beaumaris that specialises in integrative, person-centred, and collaborative treatment of psychological presentations.
We have spared no expense in building a beautiful clinic with a coastal contemporary interior design, that allows practitioners and clients to feel at home while they do such important work. Research has found that our environment has a significant impact on our nervous system, so we made it a priority to create a space that feels calming and safe. Our five therapy rooms have been built with high end specifications, including soundproofing.
We are looking to add an experienced Eating Disorder Specialist (Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker) to our team, who would like to work alongside incredibly friendly, fun, and like-minded colleagues. Minded Psychology is unique in its practice, as it offers our practitioners with daily opportunities to connect with one another. Considering the heavy work that we do and typically private practice is quite an isolating work environment, we felt it was important to provide our team with frequent opportunities for learning and de-briefing. We have done this by setting up regular peer supervision catered lunches, a daily shared client-free break between 130pm – 230pm, inhouse professional development, a shared WhatsApp group, fun team events, and a quarterly team meetings facilitated with a social vibe.
Minded Psychology treats the health issues of clients by investigating the messages behind their symptoms. Therapy at Minded Psychology focuses on identifying unmet needs and helps clients (and where appropriate their attachment relationships) learn to meet those needs, so lasting, meaningful change can occur. Minded Psychology values collaboration amongst our client's network so practitioners are encouraged to work closely with their client's ‘village’, including specialists and/or schools.
Minded Psychology uses a person-centred approach (including but not exclusively Emotion-Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory) to help clients improve their level of functioning, ensuring they feel empowered in the process. We look closely at the relationship between the mind and body, so lifestyle factors such as movement and nutrition are also important.
Minded Psychology is building a solid reputation across Bayside for accurately matching new clients to the best practitioner based on a thorough intake assessment of their personality, presentation, and treatment goals. New Intake Assessments usually take approximately 30-40 minutes to conduct and all clients feel held and heard from the moment they engage our services. We currently have a long waiting list, so would be able to have you completely booked with a full caseload within a few days.
Should you be a successful applicant you will therefore receive appropriately matched referrals (people and presentations that you love working with) and exceptional administration support that essentially runs your 'business' for you, so all you'll need to focus on is your client work.
Minded Psychology's Client Support & Administration Team ensures that each client is allocated a regular session time. This means that you will have a manageable caseload, while also promoting continuity of care for your clients, which leads to better treatment outcomes. Minded Psychology's administration model also promotes excellent client attendance and retention rates.
Minded Psychology has also invested the last 5 years into creating unique policies and processes that will set psychologists up to learn how to run a very efficient, effective, and successful private practice.
The ideal candidate will be supported to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We value the health of our practitioners as a priority. We believe that if you are healthy and happy at work and in your personal life then you will be best equipped to provide your clients with the very best care. We support client-free breaks for client administration duties and case de-briefing amongst your peers.
Your capacity to earn will depend on your years of experience, how many client sessions you're able to offer, the referrals you're willing and able to accept, your performance, and the contributions you make to our team. Please note that Minded Psychology covers all expenses and pays your superannuation. Our business structure benefits you financially, while allowing you to work in a group private practice setting without administration responsibilities, the expense/stress of running a business, marketing/advertisement costs, on-going networking investments, and/or having to work in an isolated environment.
Minded Psychology will provide the successful applicant with guidance to build their reputation amongst Bayside referring doctors, while working in a team of like-minded and passionate people.
