The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board also known as TITEB is the employment, training and allied education services provider, for the Tiwi Islands Communities. Our programs facilitate strong education outcomes and support the community to reach their potential through the delivery of the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES), Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Group Training Organisation (GTO), and Tiwi School Support Services (TSSS).
This position coordinates the Forest Works Project 12 deliverables, to increase local participation in the Tiwi Forestry Industry. The Mentor position is a leadership role that influences Tiwi participants/employees to successfully complete training and engage in meaningful employment at the Tiwi Plantation. The position is the workforce support service to the key stakeholders, primarily, participants, TITEB RTO and RAES program, Tiwi Plantations Corporation, Midway, and a range of RTO’s (Registered Training Organisations). The role administers all project information and documentary evidence for reporting back to the funding body. This position is based at Yipilika, Maxwell Creek on Melville Island.
The position requires an experienced applicant with Mentoring/Leadership qualifications and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role with an understanding of the issues that impact First Nations workers in a remote community setting.
The position is for a Term of 6 months.

SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Mentoring/Leadership qualification and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
2. An understanding of the issues that impact First Nations workers in a remote
community setting.
3. Proven ability to influence first nations workers to reach their potential
4. Proficient Microsoft IT skills – including excel and word
5. Excellent organisational and coordination skills
6. Good communication and problem-solving skills
A current NT Drivers Licence. (preferably manual)
Desirable
1. Industrial tickets and plant machinery experience
2. HR Licence
3. Workplace Safety qualification
