About This Opportunity

This is a dynamic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the student experience within the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT). As the Employability Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for students seeking guidance on employability, work-integrated learning, and professional practice, making you the approachable face of support as students prepare for their future careers.

In this highly engaging role, you will not only provide direct support to students but also collaborate with the wider EAIT Employability Team to deliver innovative programs, events, and industry engagement initiatives. From coordinating employability workshops and managing student placements, to building connections with industry and promoting opportunities through digital channels, your contribution will directly enhance students' career readiness and professional success.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for students, providing high-quality support and guidance on employability, placements, and professional practice.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the successful delivery of employability events, workshops, programs, and industry engagement initiatives.
  • Support the administration and management of student placements, agreements, records, and related documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with building and promoting industry partnerships and student opportunities through digital platforms, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

About You
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline with subsequent experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
  • The ability to work in a busy and diverse environment whilst maintain a strong customer service ethos and the ability to make students feel comfortable and welcome as they seek support.
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise own workload, meet deadlines and work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral, written communication skills including the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, handle sensitive and confidential matters, negotiate effective outcomes and work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Proficient ability to utilise relevant software and systems including MS Office Suite, Customer Relationship Management systems, and specialist enterprise systems, or the ability to acquire these skills.
  • Proven ability to apply business processes to a variety of situations to ensure consistency in decision making.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, blue card check.
