About the Role:

We're seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate individual to join our team as a Crematorium Operator at Rookwood Cemetery site, located at Rookwood (near Lidcombe) NSW. As a Crematorium Operator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the dignity and respect of the deceased and their families.

• Operate and maintain cremation equipment according to manufacturer's directions and safety procedures
• Perform cremations, receive coffins, and identify and store ashes
• Coordinate ash deliveries and placements in our memorial gardens or niche walls
• Maintain accurate records and complete relevant paperwork
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in the crematorium
• Work closely with funeral directors, clergy, and families to ensure a smooth and respectful service

What We're Looking For:

• Ability to work in a sensitive environment and support grieving families
• Attention to detail and organisational skills
• Physical strength for heavy lifting and maintenance duties
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Excellent attendance history and reliability
• Ability to learn and use our online Cemetery Management System
• Relevant certifications or experience in crematorium operations is desirable
