About the role
- Provide a defined range of specialised clinical screening assessments as delegated and allowed by testing guidelines and legislation (the HP remains responsible for clinical decision making, treatment planning and evaluation).
- Provide advanced level individual and group interventions with indirect supervision as delegated by Occupational Therapists (inpatients or outpatient services).
- To supervise and coordinate allied health assistants working within the Occupational Therapy department.
- This position is required to participate in after hours, weekend or Public Holiday rosters.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide therapy programmes and interventions performed with direct or indirect supervision.
- Obtain relevant patient information, including where appropriate, the administering a defined range of clinical screening assessments, as delegated and allowed by testing guidelines and legislation.
- Conduct independent access visits to measure and evaluate patient homes for equipment and modifications.
- Assist with the personal care, manual handling, and transport of patients.
- Provide comprehensive education on a defined range of topics to individual patients or groups of patients.
