About the role

Seeking multiple Machine Operators to join our InfraBuild site at Cavan. As a Machine Operator you will be setting up and operating machine tools to shape and form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances, using detailed drawings and specifications. You will work on Shear Line Machines, Heavy Bar Bending Machines and Off Coil Machines for cutting, straightening and bending reinforcing bar.

Day shift – 5:50am – 2pm, Monday to Thursday, Friday is 5:50am – 12pm

Afternoon shift – 1:50pm – 10pm, Monday to Thursday, Friday is 11:50am – 6pm

Pay rate - $31.12/hr + super + as you learn you will earn skill points and allowances. Your pay will increase as you learn!

There is a 15% shift allowance for the afternoon shift role.

Your responsibilities will include:

Machine operation – Shear line Machines, Heavy Bar Bending Machines and Off Coil Machines

Monitoring accuracy, efficiency and quality of product output from machines

Troubleshooting and adjusting machinery

Reading and interpreting job cards/schedules

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area

Operating overhead gantry cranes

Assessing material and maintenance requirements

Loading and unloading steel products

Removing product from machinery to designated staging areas for delivery

Maintaining effective communication across operational teams

Adhering to InfraBuild safety procedures and programs

Requirements to be successful in this role:

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Experience operating and troubleshooting machinery

Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks

Excellent attitude and willingness to learn

Reliable and punctual

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Adhering to the safety standards of the site
