Based within The Calile Hotel on James Street, our breathtaking restaurants provide world class dining experiences.

This role reports to the Group Beverage Director.

Responsibilities:

Provide guidance to guests on wine selection, based on their preferences, meal choices, and budget, ensuring a memorable and personalised service.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the latest wine offerings, regions and production technique.

Assist with wine inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation

Complete regular stocktake and and assist with wine ordering for the venue

Updating the wine list in coordination with the Group Beverage Director

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining restaurant

Full working rights in Australia

Knowledge of wine regions, vintages and production methods

Strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles

Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with professionalism

RSA certificate

WSET certification or similar is preferred
