Development Assessment Engineering Officer (Technical)
Location: Western Sydney, NSW
Contract: Temporary, Full-time (3 Nov 2025 - 19 Jan 2026)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37.5 hrs/week)

A large NSW council is seeking a qualified Development Assessment Engineering Officer (Technical) to join their Development Assessment team on a temporary contract.

In this role, you will assess development application referrals with a focus on drainage and flooding, provide technical support, and ensure compliance within agreed KPIs. You'll also maintain accurate records across council systems and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Assess development application referrals (drainage and flooding).

Provide technical and administrative support to the development assessment team.

Maintain records and data using TechOne, CM9 and GIS.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; deliver high-quality customer service.

Monitor and record DA referrals and contribute to engineering processes.

Skills & Experience

Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience assessing Development Applications in a council environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Strong time management, organisation and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Experience using TechOne, CM9 and GIS.

Desirable: Knowledge of NSW Planning Portal, DCPs and Local Government Act.
