We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, qualified person to join our smallteam - which is managing a 1 Hectare glasshouse as well as outdoor crops.

Candidates must have Australian work rights.

Candidates must have 1-2 years of farming or agricultural experience.A Certificate in Agriculture or Horticulture qualification is required forthis position.

A Certificate I in Agriculture or Horticulture is required.

The role is based at our operation in Alloway (near Bundaberg), and is splitinto two main areas:Responsibilities include plant care and maintenance, harvesting and packing,and pest and disease control.

Farm Operations:

Involves the use of tractors - for various sprays, weedicide, mulching, etc.

A chemical Handling certificate is required (we will provide if you do not have one)

May also involve overseeing the harvesting of fruit - and looking after pickers

You will be given instructions from our current Farm Management team

Training on equipment will be provided

Pruning of trees as required, at certain times of year.

Glasshouse Assistant:

Working under the instruction of our Glasshouse Managers/Agricultural Scientists

Assisting them in daily operations including maintenance of plants, cleaning, harvesting if required, weeding, basic work in nurseries if required,

Other tasks that occur at specific times of the year, and as directed

The successful applicant will also be responsible for learning basic principles of the glasshouse - of the management team, and will be responsible for looking after the operations of the glasshouse - every third weekend. This is a critical part of the role, and if you will not be available for every third weekend - then you need not apply. Candidates must be able to work in heat and humidity conditions and maintain good physical fitness. Management will train you on everything task that is required, and ensure that you are capable of completing the tasks before you will be left on your own.
