Expression of Interest: Deputy to the Vice Principal / Acting Principal – School Operations, Learning & Improvement

We are seeking expressions of interest for a key leadership role that will support the Vice Principal / Acting Principal in driving strategic improvement across school operations, curriculum, and teaching and learning. This role sits at the intersection of educational leadership and operational management, with delegated authority and decision-making responsibilities across both Primary and Secondary divisions.

This is a leadership opportunity suited to an experienced, adaptable educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates high-level professional judgement, and is committed to driving whole-school improvement. The school is sizeable and accommodates thousands and students and ample teaching staff.

About the Role:

As Deputy to the Vice Principal / Acting Principal, you will:

• Support the planning, implementation and review of curriculum across year levels and learning areas;
• Lead and mentor staff in evidence-based teaching and learning practices;
• Collaborate with department heads to align programs, assessment, and reporting with school-wide priorities;
• Contribute to operational oversight, project delivery, and cross-campus coordination;
• Represent the VP/AP in key forums and decisions as required, supporting consistency in leadership; and
• Assist in leading school-wide initiatives that foster academic excellence and student wellbeing.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated leadership experience across both Primary and Secondary contexts;
• Strong curriculum knowledge and capacity to lead improvement in teaching practice;
• Effective communicator with the ability to build strong, respectful relationships across the school community;
• Valid WWC and be based local to Melbourne’s West;
• Skilled in project and operational planning, with a flexible, solution-oriented mindset; and
• Committed to ongoing professional learning and fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
