Tenterfield Shire Council is looking for a full-time Plant Operator based in Tenterfield, NSW. The position plays a key role in delivering high-quality road construction and maintenance across the Council area.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operating and maintaining Council Water Carts and other road plant and machinery
Assisting with road construction, maintenance and general labouring tasks
Performing daily user maintenance checks of equipment, including small plant
Installing road signs, guideposts, and erosion control measures
Conducting traffic control as required
Maintaining accurate records using tablet/iPad systems
Communicating effectively with the public and internal teams
Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard

Is This You?
To qualify, you will need a Certificate II in Civil Construction (or equivalent) and a Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence. A minimum of 2 years experience in road construction and maintenance operations is strongly preferred.
Additionally, the following skills, background and checks will be highly valued:
Certificate III in Civil Construction (or willingness to obtain – support provided)
Safework NSW Traffic Controller qualification
General Construction (White) Card
Certificate of Competency for the type of plant to be operated
First Aid Certificate
