A specialist plastic fabrication company based in Darra is currently seeking a motivated and practical individual to join their team as a Workshop Assistant. This is a hands-on, full-time position ideal for someone looking to enter the manufacturing sector and develop a wide range of practical skills — with an apprenticeship potentially available for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will join a small, family-run business and work under the guidance of the company director, an experienced plastic fabricator. While support and training will be provided, the role requires someone who can take initiative, adapt to varied tasks, and work independently when needed. The project-based nature of the work means no two days are the same, offering variety and the chance to develop a broad skill set over time. You’ll gain hands-on experience with a wide range of thermoplastic welding equipment, including hot air welders, extrusion welders, butt welders and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate general workshop machinery and equipment

Use hand and power tools to assist in fabrication processes

Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings or sketches (with guidance)

Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace

Measure materials accurately and follow job specifications
