We’re seeking a skilled and driven Plant & Equipment Head Mechanic to lead our workshop operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll not only be on the tools but also play a key part in driving the success of our business. If you’re experienced with plant and construction equipment and want to take ownership of a workshop, this role is for you.

Your Role Will Include:

Leading day-to-day workshop operations

Servicing, repairing, pre delivering and maintaining plant and equipment (trowel machines, screeds, compactors, pumps, concrete saws and small to medium size engines)

Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues

Managing spare parts, workshop stock, and supplier relationships

Overseeing equipment preparation for hire and sales

Providing technical support to customers and internal team members

Ensuring workshop safety standards are upheld

Who We’re Looking For:

Proven experience as a plant and equipment mechanic (construction machinery, small engines, or related field)

Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills across a range of equipment

Basic understanding of hydraulics and auto electrical components

Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance planning

Leadership qualities – able to mentor apprentices or workshop staff as needed

Current driver’s licence (forklift or HR licence an advantage)
