We are currently looking for a Skilled CNC Operator. The role involves operating, maintaining, and monitoring specialized woodworking machinery to create interlocking finger joints for high-quality timber production. Key responsibilities include loading materials, conducting quality checks on lumber, troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and collaborating with supervisors to maintain production flow and efficiency. Ideal candidates will possess prior machine operating experience, strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn new processes and software systems.

🕒 Schedule:
Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
Full-time: Monday to Friday (No weekends!)

💼 About the Role:

✅Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate the cross-cut finger jointing machine and associated equipment, such as planers and cutter heads.

✅Material Handling: Load and unload timber and wooden components into and from the machine.

✅Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on raw lumber and finished finger-jointed products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.

✅Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform basic machinery maintenance, clean and organize the work area, and identify and address operational issues to prevent production disruptions.

✅Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols, understanding safety switches, and utilizing emergency stop systems.

🔧Required Skills and Qualifications:

✅Experience: Prior experience as a machine operator in a woodworking or sawmill environment is preferred.

✅Technical Skills: Familiarity with the operation and basic maintenance of industrial machinery.

✅Attention to Detail: A focus on product quality and the ability to follow specifications accurately.

✅Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to identify operational issues and develop effective solutions.

✅Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

✅Willingness to Learn: A proactive attitude towards learning new processes, software, and equipment.

✅Safety Consciousness: A solid understanding of and commitment to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
