About the role

The objective of this role is to provide support and care to Aboriginal Elders and Clients, to support them to remain safely in the home for a long as possible. You will work with a close knit team of professionals to communicate in culturally respectful ways and in their language where possible to promote and achieve positive client outcomes.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing personal care, domestic assistance, social support and transporting clients. You will also work closely with the Regional Coordinators in developing your rosters on a fortnightly basis. This role requires you to ensure the secure management of client confidential information and compliance with relevant legislation and policy.

About you:

To be successful you must possess a Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Community Services or higher, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will also have a natural ability to actively engage with clients and respect cultural diversity. Previous experience working with Aboriginal people be highly regarded but not essential.

You must possess unrestricted work rights in Australia (sponsorship is NOT available).

You must have a current SA Driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

You will have a recent National police check or willing to obtain one.
